As a management team we are all being asked to undergo an assessment by a firm called PDI ninth house. It seems to consist of the standard Myers Briggs type personality questionnaire and then a 3 hour interview and an assessment based on a scenario you are provided with before hand. Anyone any experience with this company or any tips?

Not had any experience of them specifcally, but it isn't unusual to incorporate some sort of profiling as part of a leadership development programme (which seems to be what they do most of). Presumably this is some sort of organisational development/restructuring your company is going through?

What is the outcome that your organisation is seeking by putting you all through this (and at some not inconsiderable cost I guess)? Just curious.

Well, ostensibly it is about leadership development - who can make it all the way to the group board etc. However, there have been lots of rumours of redundancies too so my cynical bone is itching....

"leadership development" is too wide an arc, which means it will miss most people. Do you know how they will audit the outcomes of the session? I'm being mischievous here I hope you have spotted; I see too much money and time wasted on programmes exactly like this. It's a real shame when in fact improvement in capability, capacity and leadership traits can be achieved, but only through targeted application.
