To Pork or not to Pork

Thinking of getting a Porsche and whilst it may be sensible (or not) to ask on the porker forum I though I'd ask you lot for your views first.
Its 23 years since I last had a porker and just getting the urge to get one again.
After following Ash in his 996 GT2 to and back from Le Mans I really need something a little more refined than the Noble for swift weekends away
I've been thinking about a 997 turbo GT2 or GT3 comfort.
Not looking at a new one this time I've enough depreciation going on with my other cars without adding even more.
Doubt I'll be tracking it, so which would you buy for all round comfort ability affordability and fun and as a good Yorkshire boy which do you think will suffer least from the arrival of the 998/991 thingy

My first thoughts were get a turbo but then the GT2 keeps turning my head and I think that one of the GT class will withstand the arrival of the new model better than the 997tt.
Need to get a go in some back to back then set about finding the right car.
Could be a fun weekend

I would think that a GT3 is too similar to a Noble and maybe even the GT2 so if you want a proper weekend cruiser but with the power/looks then the TT is the way to go. It has all the power plus the comfort/toys and also 4WD.
You are welcome to come and have a play in mine - it's fully insured for any driver (and I have just renewed the OPC warranty) if you want to give it a proper test drive

Thats a very generous offer, thank you. I'm going to have a look at few cars over the next couple of weekends and see what I think. When you say properly spec'd cars what do you consider to be the essentials?

I was always impressed with the overall capability of Darren's 996TT X50(?), and assume therefore the 997 version is equally capable.J

For me personally though I never get that "last look back" feeling when I drive Bettles. "Fizz" I think as the May,Hammond,Clarkson clan call it.
I'd take a GT-R over a Porker any day if you want something insanely capable, mega comfy and great at long distances.

I've been looking at the GT-R recently as a compliment to the noble... currently got absolutely no justification for getting one as I already have 4 vehicles on the road none of which could be replaced by it... but still, they are sooooo good!J

Stupid, but I can't quite keep myself away it feels.

I personally would have the GT3.
It would be a nice addition as it's normally aspirated power rather than turbo Like the other two and the Noble.
The GT3 can take some serious stick and you wouldn't have to worry about bits dropping off like the Noble.
Iv'e just done a similar thing by Buying a CSL.
I love the Noble turbo feeling but it's also nice to have a high revving N/A with the noise to boot.
Just my two peneth.

Yes but your are a slightly bigger Hamster than Ash not a Guinea pig like Worty It would be a nice addition as it's normally aspirated power rather than turbo Like the other two and the Noble.
