WRX front discs & pads
Discussion
Just been to the local Subaru dealer who quoted me nearly £270 for new front discs & pads for my '04 WRX.
With labour I reckon it would have been getting on for £400 fitted by them !!!
So decided to source some good quality parts and fit them myself, here's what I got.
Pads - Pagid - £35 delivered.

Discs - Pagid - £79 delivered

Took me about 3 hrs to fit, and could probably do it quicker next time, and it cost me just £115. Well pleased with that !!

In a lot of respects Subaru's are actually very simple to work on and things like brakes, suspension, turbos, clutches, engine removal etc..., are very DIY friendly.
I hope you get good results with your Pagid bits. I don't have any experience of Pagid to say good choice/bad choice however, all i will say is, where the humble Subaru is concerned, cheap isn't always a good choice.

I've used Godspeed disks with their kevlar pads and they were ok on the WRX but brake fade was inevitable after a few hard stops. Godspeed disks with Bluestuff pads on the STI (brembo callipers) are very good though.
Think Godspeed were doing disks and pads for the WRX for £99 but pagid should be good enough.

As far as I'm aware Pagid are good quality make, and OE manufacturer for some quality car makers. Now they have had a chance to bed in a bit the new brakes feel very smooth and progressive.
I've no idea how they would stand up to multiple hard stops, but that isn't really an issue for me, as I don't tear around like a t
t on the road, and I don't do track days.Horses for courses I guess.
Pagid are a good make, but they do a bargain section and an expensive section, bit like tesco value range and best of range, ian at godspeed is a very nice man who knows his stuff and will help you with anything scoob related, he also sells nothing but quality parts, and i have to say with a scoob, never skimp on the brakes as you will find cheaper end of market will fade in no time and you will be left wanting in the end!!
The four pots are not the best brakes ever. I have upgraded to the Godspeed 335mm kit, which utilizes the 4 pot calipers spaced and bracketed to accept a 335mm disc and pads to suit. The braking is a lot better, with a lot less fade due to the heat dissipation of the two piece discs.
What is best, is that Ian at Godspeed gave me extensive advice prior to fitting even though I bought the kit second hand. Good egg.
