Out of interest, for those who own ski chalets, when do you start receiving enquiries for your chalets? At the start of September, or is that too soon?

Look forward to seeing some feedback on this..

I own one with my brothers. It books up fully usually by September.
The order of booking weeks is always: Half Term weeks, then New Year, then Christmas week, then the peri-half term weeks as parents reconcile taking Jimmy and Jemima out of school early.

Its very location sensitive for bookings, like all rented accom.

Funnily enough, FWIW, we're doing Morzine this time wink

To those of you lucky enough to own one, do yo rent them out in the summer for bikers / walkers?

I'll be looking for somewhere for 4 of us next summer for a week (we're in our mid 30's, proffesionals not big drinkers or party animals) ideally Morzine / Les Gets, Les Arcs or Verbier.

I rented this place last summer for a week. Not a biker but plenty around there were and seemed to be having a ball! Bit out of Morzine but two hotels immediately across the road if you can't be bothered to cook, one with a lakeside terrace. Lovely spot.

As for the ski question, two trips a year for me if I can. Lads trip for 8 in January usually booked last minute. Big family group for 20+ just outside school hols for March, booked already!

That was probably my brother. He rides his Kawasaki ZX-10R out there, he's lived in Morzine for 10 years as Snowboarder/Accomodation manager/Bar Chief.

I've been to Morzine in every month of the year except April. July is lovely and hot. October is beautiful, quiet, tranquil. February can see -15 up the mountain. And in the middle two weeks of December before the package holidays start, you can ski on a deserted mountain, Ie you and a few locals with 800km of piste.

My other brother (got two) proposed to his girlfriend on the banks of Lake Montriond just 14 days ago!

You can register at chalet finder sites and receive quotes throughout the whole year.
