I have been following the TdF for decades now, but yesterday I was in awe of Voeckler, he was massive.

He was like Anquetil, "the man who could drop nobody, but nobody can drop".

With a bit of luck and continuing farm, he could just do it, get to Paris in Yellow. The "others" must have taken a knock to their confidence, it was a given that Tommy would let go of the Yellow Jersy.

I am not a fan of the French, but the man has always demanded respect, quiet and self effacing, he is like a Brit!!

On the last couple of km Basso looked like he was really struggling compared to a rather fresher legged Schleck... expected Schleck to come up with something but nowt happened.

Agreed Voeckler is deserving that jersey

Can't recall much from yesterday, but was Basso alone in that group? The Schlecks had Voigt beating the mountain into submission helping them along?

Got to give to to Voeckler though: everyone was writing him off. "He'll hang onto the yellow jersey until tomorrow..." If they're not careful, tomorrow will become Paris. Who'd have thought that...?!

I'd love to see Voekler in yellow at the end (alongside Cav in the green). Given the way all the commentators have been coming out with "Voekler's in the lead but the first of the real contenders is...", it would just be fun to see! smile
