Youtube revenue sharing !!!

Whats this all about. I was invited to make money from my videos on Youtube but I'm a bit usurer about it. I'm thinking about Tax and giving bank details away being just two possible problems, any others or is it one of those things that sounds iffy but is ok.
Sounds too good to be true to me.

Do you have videos with alot of views?

As far as I know it works like this:

You upload a few videos
Lots of peple watch them
Youtube see you content as worthy and get in touch
The £ incentive means you make more vids
You both profit

Its the main reason why people make regular content for youtube.

Lots of people dot watch my videos but I put one on last week at mid day and by the next day 100 had viewed it which I didn't think it would be worth while.
It's more the security I am thinking about with giving them bank details.
I wonder how many views to the pound it works out as.

someone on PH makes roughly 3-4k a month off it I believe, not sure of the views needed for that though.

Thats probably from adverts on the channel and vids. It works out at about £500 for a million views.

The OP is talking about something paying to create more vids with them 'featured'

What is the total views on your channel? I can't imagine any business would approach anyone with less than 500k views. Even then, it won't be for much money.

If you go ahead, what about setting up a new account to get the money paid into and take it straight out? Or get paid via Paypal.

I only have about 40 videos and around 5k hits on my channel and that's why I thought it strange that I was ivied with such low numbers.

I have 8 videos and 72,876 views yet, despite having an account with them for payments, have earnt bugger all.

iv been invited to but at the veiw levels im getting its not worth it.
most of my vids have between 100 and 1000 views but iv got 3 with about 13000 each.
if they where in the millions of veiws i would defintly sign up though.

Just don't get into a position where you rely on income from it. I know of someone who was making films that were getting a lot of hits, and he was getting about £1500 a month in revenue from the adverts. The problem was, someone or some people decided that they would click on lots of the adverts, however Google do some sort of analysis of the clicks, and if they fall outside of whatever parameters they set, then they suspend the advert account and you lose all the income. It is a very arbitrary system and there is virtually no recourse - once they decide to cancel, that's it.

Very true although the terms and conditions make this very clear. Presumably it was someone who knew your mate that was doing this, or worse, him doing it.

It was someone who had a video channel with a very large number (many millions) of hits. He created another, which had a much smaller interest (a few thousand) and someone obviously thought they were doing him a favour by clicking on adverts a lot. The relatively small number of visitors obviously meant the percentage of click throughs was affected more and as a result went outside the limit. They didn't just pull the revenue for the small channel however, they pulled the main one as well.

It just seems a bit off that you can have revenue withheld through something over which you have no control, and when that happens your only communication is with a computer.

You're not wrong. Its not nice to think I could lose my small income because someone thought they'd click 10 links a day. There is NO way for me to stop people clicking on the links, bar take them away.

My mate told me he made over £500 on Thursday alone, in one day.
