MK1 golf Bosch give very good beam pattern

I have fitted the Wipac polycarbonate ones with upgraded bulbs - much cheaper here than anywhere else.

Not sure what you mean Barry. The contacts for the bulb you have to prise apart quite a bit to get the bulb in - its a wire ended bulb pretty typical on more modern car sidelights.
This is the type of bulb you need I think - difficult to judge the size in a picture.
Ignore the bike reference. Bulb is roughly 10mm wide at the flat contacts bit.
