I was reading The Sun today (probably my first mistake) and noticed, tucked waaaaaaay at the bottom, an article that consisted of 4 lines and one sentence:
"Hard-up MP's are having to form a kitty for their tea and biscuits as the old way wasn't working."

All I could think was "........what?"

Apart from the issue of "There's bigger things to worry about than the tea break", it raised a couple of questions:
  • what was this "old way"? Expenses?
  • are MPs actually complaining about tea? Really? God forbid they put their hands into their pockets.
Anyone else think this or am I just being skeptical?

The old way was an expenses fund assigned for that sort of thing. It was damned expensive so it got canned.

hehe I'm more of a coffee man myself.
Question is, will the MP's now have to go de-caff? And the biscuits! However shall the poor souls cope?
