Read with interest the tale of four 'gentle' young lads who had 'never been in any trouble' on holiday in Greece.
They were innocently enjoying themselves after a night of 'quiet' drinking by pointing laser pens at Greek taxi drivers and throwing stones at their cabs before the Greeks very unreasonably fought back culminating in one of the lads 'a gentle angel' being stabbed to death.
At least that's the way it reads in the press what with all the facebook tributes......

Reading FC also left a message offering their condolences from everyone at the club.
Others have been calling for a minute's silence for their "fellow Royal" before the club's first game of the season against Millwall on 6 August.
Mr Sebbage's former school, Hurst Community College, is to hold a minute's silence on Friday.
It is also planning a minute's applause for the teenager at its forthcoming sports awards ceremony.
His family said in a statement: "All these young men are very close friends. They are all 18 years old and all went to the Hurst School together - some went on to college together, some into work.
"They are simply just a bunch of nice lads and this is their first holiday abroad and they had all gone just to enjoy themselves."

I on the other hand can't help thinking that these scrotes are the kind of tw@ts who behave like this on the streets of Britain every weekend and are used to getting away with behaving like animals. This time it seems they met some 'bigger' boys who played a bit more seriously and got what they deserved.
That is if we're to believe what's been reported.
On the other hand perhaps they were very unreasonably attacked by some savages while merely having a 'laugh'...........

Have you got a link to the news story?
It's sad when things like that happen, and I'm not going to comment on this story as I don't know the full facts, but it generally seems odd to me how whenever a death of anybody is reported in the papers, the individual was always an angelic grade A student who was universally loved by all. Not that I'm suspicious of newspapers twisting the truth or anything...

The British police are some of the most professional in the world, but people that grow up here forget that many places out there aren't like this. In Russia for example they would have had their heads smashed in, nobody would have seen a thing and the investigation would probably have lasted about 10 minutes and produced no suspects.

Doesn't have a lot of detail in it- the gutter press/broadsheets go into it more, just take a look on one of their websites

Read this on the BBC this morning. Seemed very close to the "he was a promising footballer" cliche. The BBC oddly went into a whole story about his colitis, and how he was a mascot at an England v Brazil game.
Sounded like a really nasty fight. Clearly the Greek taxi driver could have shown some restraint and not attacked/defended himself with a knife. But I would have to say from my ivory tower, that you should not go on holiday, get drunk and have fights with people - as the consequences can be fatal.

Sat here in my ivory tower I can't help thinking that assholes that shine laser pens at people driving for their amusement got all they deserved...........
I'm at a loss to understand how anyone (other than their family) could think that this wasn't karma coming to back to bite their asses.
The headline could easily have been 'taxi driver ploughs into late night cafe-blinded by laser pen'

Or raped for three days by a hot blonde hairdresser. It would certainly appear that they were acting like arses and their behaviour was unacceptable.
I don't think anyone deserves to die for this though. By early accounts the taxi driver went all Steven Seagal on them and pretty much cut all of them up in what must have been a horrific scene. Now, what we don't know is whether the gang of 4/5 surrounded the driver when he came into the shop to remonstrate and his actions could be viewed as Mediteranian self defence.
However, this doesn't change the fact that a proper thrashing and total humiliation and pain should be the limit of such punishment, not execution.
