1. Engine has different head and different suspension setup
2.Yes, £135.13 (Incl) www.joospeed.co.uk
3.TVR
4.No
When I asked TVR the question about heads they state catagorically that they are the same. (See myths and misconceptions). Therefore all 4 litre 360 bhp S6 engines of any vintage are (allegedly) the same as one another. I know this is controversial, but I am reiterating what TVR's 'spokeperson' has said (i.e. not a dealer, mechanic etc, but someone who spins official lines). I am aware of people who have been told differently, so if in doubt refer back to TVR's PR department.
The chassis is slightly different on 2002 models with different suspension pick up points. I am told (again) that the main reason for this is to more comfortably accomodate the 18" wheels with respect to improving the QE2 like turning circle. (Earlier chassis was designed with 16" wheels in mind, but after showing the road ready Tuscan at the 1999 motorshow with 18" wheels, many owners specced them as an option).
Nitron kit: I have no personal experience of but from what I have heard from many people on here, they are the dog's danglies, worth every penny and transform the ride/road holding immensley. They are fully adjustable, rebuildable, and better value for money than TVR's own rebranded Bilstein shocks. I would therefore budget a trip to Joolz who will sort out wheel allignment, make a small suspension mode, supply and fit the kit for a shade over £1200.

While the engines may indeed be the same "design", that design has been "modified" and "updated" bit by bit, for example a couple of years ago my dealer commented how my engine had new oil ways in the head which pointed oil at the finger followers instead of just spraying it around, and most recently I have been told (by TVR factory) I now have the new timing chain adjustement which is why the engine whines more than it used to
In any case, the current engine is a lot queieter than previously and feels smoother as well, so something must be different, and there are plenty of people who have had rebuilds who say the same
I can see why TVR say the engine design is the same, it pretty much is, it has just had a few tweaks - a bit like patches for software maybe?
