Morning All,

I realise that some folk may think this overkill, but I would like to find some decent protection for my knees / elbows whilst ROAD biking.

Could anyone suggest some good items - I need decent mobility and don't fancy looking like the terminator either!

Thanks!

Nothing of the sort on the market: anything you do find will be targeted at the MTB brigade.

And in all seriousness, why? It'll be bulky, hot, sweaty, restrict movement, ugly, heavy, and ultimately pointless. You have to be trying to fall off a road bike. Granted the TdF lot are taking a tumble, but you're not riding like that...

I guess the question is; protection against what?

Is it to protect against falling off, or just clipping things with elbows/knees?

You don't need it.

But if you really think you do, look at the stuff that a rollerblader wears. If you want something thinner than that, then you'll really end up with nothing better than a comfort blanket.
