Subaru Forester 2.5 Dead
Discussion
Just a quicky to all Subaru owners, mainly those with the EJ25 engine. (03 to 05)
Last week mine had a total engine failiure due to the oil pickup pipe cracking. ( 77k, with regular servicing)
This seems to be a world wide issue, it appears to be an error when the item has been brazed up.
Has this has happened to you?
Have you had other Problems with Subaru UK
Cheers

There is also many links to other forums etc.

It does seem to a world wide issue, and Mr Subaru does not want to admit to it.
When i went to Subaru Europa Sheffield on Monday the service manager said he had only seem two crack.
I wonder how many people just take thier car in to be repaired not knowing??
Please anyone who has had any issues with Subaru please post about this.
Exert taken from the Subaru UK web page,

Yep, btm end r/h cylinder head and poss turbo.
The only inication of possible fail was the oil started to darken 2k before it broke off.
Oil pressure switch only requires approx 4psi to operate. H'mmm!
I believe some people also do a pressure guage mod, so at least you have some warning.

Hi, i've been trawling through the Subaru Forester org forum's etc, scary thing is that even models only a couple of years old are still having major engine problems....
It seems the older Subaru's where built to last, my old ladys Impreza on a "V" 152 k and still runs sweet not burning oil or using water.
Never let her down in over 11 years of owning it, and always gets her home safe. I cannot put a price on this as reliability rules!!
"Come on Subaru pull your socks up and start making good reliable cars again"
