are impreza 4 pots handed left and right???
Discussion
Hi guys, as the title says, are impreza 4 pots handed left and right??
I bought a set of 4 pots and discs of the wonderful ebay to fit my 95 turbo, which i use for trackdays/sprints as my old 2 pots warped the discs to hell going round combe last month and the pads where on there way too.
They where described as good used condition, but took me a whole afternoon to strip down, deskank, and repaint and the pistons n seals actually looked ok under all the crap.
anyway got round to fitting them and it looks like i have been sent 2 identical calipers, is this correct.
The pass side looks to fit fine with the bleed nipple at the top, like on the rears and the hose nice and slack.
On the drivers side however the bleed nipple is at the bottom, and the hose pulls pretty tight, or tighter than i would like to reach the hole where it attaches to the caliper.
Anyways, thought maybe its just me worrying, and gave them a bleed anyway. They bleed up fine but then when u drive off the pedal just hits the floor once or twice before it comes back.
I'm thinking that the bleed nipple has to be at the top so the caliper 'fills up' as you bleed it and all the air gets pushed out?
Does it look like i've been had and i'm going to have to go through the pain staiking process of getting my £££ back through paypal, and still be left with crappy knackered 2 pot brakes??? They weren't even particularly cheap tbh !

dam, thats what I thought!
yes emailed him and he's playing dum, saying they came off the same car, and they looked correct on the car.
I have tried to explain they are the same casting with the threads simply machined out in different locations to make the n and off side!
looks like this could be a long drawn out process.
The car is used for trackdays & so I want the brakes to be right at least!

I think you would then have to be able to put it over the disc, install the pads (so there was something offering resitance against the pistons being pushed by the fluid) and then bleed. Brake hose length, pad configuration and piston location may mean this is or isn't possible.
Wheat a ball ache tho. Especially for a track car with new fluid every couple of months!
