Cant view CR2 (RAW) on my new PC install (or DPP)

I'm sure this is an easy one....but....


New PC, loaded Dig Photo Pro but it wont show my CR2 files??? Nor does Windows normal viewer - I assume its a codec issue but a hunt round google is very confusing!

Its windows 7 64bit isnt it? None of the camera makers have 64bit codecs yet

Theres a 3rd party one but you have to buy it.

DPP should be able to browse them or download windows photo gallery live that can too.

Oddly DPP shows jpegs ok but CR2 as blanks?

RAW files are all different depending on the camera make/model that produced them. They're also not image files so defeat the usual stuff. You need the right plug-in for the camera model and software (if supported).

Don't have Win7 so can't help exactly.

DPP on my win 7 64bit (3.7.1.1) is showing 7D raw files fine.

Ditto Lightroom 3.3 (64bit version) on 7 64 too. Albeit 1D, but still CR2.
