Upgrading the Xbox ...
Discussion
... Looking to chop in my old 360 and get one of the new 250gb units, but I know the external HD I have on my current box won't fit on to the new one. So can I go about transferring the data onto the new Xbox without having to buy the new one upfront? Would they do it at Game?
Any advice gratefully received!

Well, contrary what was said here and what Game told me on the phone, they'll do the transfer for free, providing you buy the £15 cable (which they don't use!). Still, got it now. Was a bit bummed when they told me my beloved core system, which I've had for years, was worth £20 in trade value!

You could probably get £40-£50 for it privately.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

Still, with a few other bits and pieces I got over £90 trade-in. So all good in the end, and now have a shiny new Xbox to play with!
