The Last Shuttle Flight

The last space shuttle flight (Atlantis) will blast off tomorrow from Cape Canaveral. The previous launch was shown on Sky News - anyone got any idea what time tomorrow's launch is scheduled for. Would like to watch a moment of history.

Well....that's because the other vehicles in the fleet have indeed had their last-ever flights over the past few months.

This one, however, is the last of the last-ever flights.

I wouldn't bother with SKY tv. Launches are streamed live on NASA tv for hours before T-0, if you are keen enough to watch the crew get strapped in, go through checks etc. There's a NASA commentator on the channel, but all the R/T transmissions etc are included.

I believe launch is 15.26 UK time and I will be watch on the NASA TV feed (which has been excellent) along with many others here I suspect.

If the weather here tonight is anything to go by, the shuttle won't be going anywhere in the morning.
Super low cloud deck, pissing rain, lightning, etc., etc.
It's going to have to clear-up dramatically to avoid a weather-scrub in tomorrow.

just checked nasa tv it seems to suggest that the launch will commence at 1126. although this is the first time i have looked at the site so may be using it wrong and apologise if so, thought i'd post so someone could check as would hate people to miss it thinking it was later.

On a serious note, think this last launch could get a wee bit emotional.
