Some help please - raw conversion

Hi folks,


I've been away for some time and have actually sold all my photo kit except a rather good Canon S95. I'm waiting till the bug returns and then I'll get some proper kit again



One of the last things I did was a mates wedding (as a back up to the main man) and I stoopidly shot the whole thing all in RAW format using my Canon G10 and a Nikon D200 .

I have about 1000+ pics that the groom just wants on a DVD as jpegs, so they can sift through them and keep the ones they like.




Question......





Is there a really simple way to batch convert the whole lot in Photoshop Elements (only program I have on my new iMac) so I don't have to go thought all 1000 of them one by one!??





Please tell me there is! (and walk me through doing it if possible)

Can't help with elements, but download 30 day trial of lightroom and do it from there? Piece of cake in lightroom

Download the free trial of Adobe Lightroom (valid for 30 days), import all the RAW files, select all, export to jpg (choose export directory, file quality settings) and job done.

Shouldn't take more than an hour all in, unless you want to start editting the files.

It's File > Scripts > Image Processor in Photoshop, don't know if this function is in Elements.

A quick look through the file > subfolders in PSE revealed a "Process multiple files" which is the simplest to use thing ever! It's now quietly processing the whole lot in the background and adding auto levels and sharpen etc at the same time!!

Now go and poke one about properly (WB, levels, curves) and see the difference...

if on an imac and you only want to quickly convert from raw (or any format) to jpeg, not worrying about adjusting levels etc, then use an automator action. Simple and quick.

Canon's DPP software (free) also does batch processing as well as WB adjustments and will then save to JPEG/TIFF.
