Simple question... New Impreza... but hatchback or saloon??
Discussion
Saloon with spoiler (big or little lip one). They will have a better resale value (if you care about that). On balance I think the hatch is by far and away the least popular.
Given how dear a new Impreza is now, I couldn't help but consider an Evo. If its looks you are about, then IMO they are such a better looking proposition. As far as hatches go, it has to be the least attractive one in existence - Focus RS, Mazda 3 MPS all look tons better and more purposeful.

Tend to agree on this one. I hated the hatches when they first came out, i still don't like them.
Thank crunchie they decided to release the 4dr saloon version in the UK because that is altogether a much better looking/performing proposition, and more in line with the traditional thoughts of what a Subaru should be.
If you want a hatch they will be cheap now. Those that have bought them now want the latest 4dr hence why there are just so many hatches up for sale currently. In fact depreciation/prices of older neweage cars has pretty much stabalised and levelled off over the last year.
I would rather have a newage than a hatch all day long, but then i would really like one of the latest 4dr cars too.

The fat, bloated pig of an Evo X? Wash your mouth out! Liking the look of previous Evos I can understand, but not that blob.FWIW I prefer the hatch to the current sedan in STI form, better proportioned and more purposeful. Without the STI flared guards etc the hatch is pretty bland though, and I still don't know what they were thinking with the tail lights.
