Evening all.

To cut a long story short, after trusting someone who I shouldn't have done to supply a basket case, I am now looking for a replacement outboard.

I have tried eBay, Boats and Outboards, PH classifieds and everywhere else I can think of...

The season is getting on and I have thousands tied-up in a boat I can't use for not being able to find the right engine.

Although I can't afford to go new despite the peace of mind that should bring, I don't believe my budget is unrealistic. I just can't find anything that doesn't seem to be a scam, or a fkwit seller who won't answer simple questions written in plain English about their engines...!

Spec would be as follows....

Four or two stroke if Optimax or direct injection
150 - 225 Horse power but max 200 if a 4 stroke, due to weight....
Ideally to have all the 'bits' like looms, a decent prop' remote oil tank, gauges, controls paddle wheel etc
Not older than 10 years old at the absolute limit.
Not a scam.
No problems or faults or oil tanker hours...
Budget £5-6K

Please get in touch if you know of something which might fit the bill. (Except for the 150Hp Yamaha on Bill Higham's site which is sold...!!)
Or, indeed if you know somewhere else I should be looking....

Many thanks Chaps - Nico

Here you go Nico.

Can I have the change?

In all seriousness post on there and you will get all sort of offers / help, with the majority of motors being known to the forum so you are less likely to get screwed over.

Slightly different animal though Jon. Not many people turn up to a boat jumble with a quarter tonne of outboard in their boot except of course those friendly people with the dags and nissan trucks that we don't talk about. wink

JM Yachting in Hamble have a 2007 225 Opti within your budget.

I would have had it for my boat but it's an XL.

Give James a call and say Duncan sent you.
