Hoping to go Sunday and Monday. Went to final qualifying at the Euro Finals last year and saw Kim Reymond run the 4.64 / 317mph. Jaw dropping stuff. Don't think we'll see anything that quick this weekend. A few of the cars are capable of 4.7s, but I don't think we'll see anything quicker than high 4.8s. Hopefully be a few +300mph runs over the weekend. Andy Carter and Tommy Moller have just cracked off 4.99s in first qualifying, both with fairly slow top end speeds (if 284mph can be considered slow!), which suggests they were both off it early.

Hoping to go tomorrow, but depends on the weather, anybody seen the forecast?
What do they do if it does rain all day?

Just checked out the local forecast for Wellingborough - Sunday is supposed to be sunny AND cloudy with the odd shower (they don't know, in other words) whilst Monday looks like being a bit grim. If you're going to go, Sunday seems to be the best bet, even though it's just qualifying.

That said, the forecasts for the Euro Finals last year weren't much cop and I ended up getting sun burn!

If it rains they stop and wait for things to dry. Very frustrating, as quite often there will be a small sprinkling in the shutdown area whilst the actual quarter mile will be bone dry.

Had a really enjoyable day there to-day weather was great

The 1st Top Fuel dragster run was just after 10am and was under 5 secs...can't remember the actual time though.

Great fun being in the Barn when the Jet car fired up A guy in front of me had his hat blown off

Nice picture there, Mr. Hornet. I would have appreciated the tiniest credit for taking it.

Nonetheless, it demonstrates the fact that cast blocks that made made over 170 runs are very near the end of their life.
