Can any PHers help me here? A few years ago I went to an excellent restaurant in Gardone. I remember having to walk up loooooaaaadddsss of steps so the restaurant must have been 'above the town' so to speak. It was a rustic looking building and the food was first class and I'd like to go back.

Do the steps ring any bells with anyone? I have a feeling the proprietor was a lady as well, but wouldn't want to bet on it...

Thanks!

Glad you didn't say Malcesine - we ate at the Vecchia Malcesine and it was the worst experience of the holiday - cheap food masquerading as 'Michelin Star' quality, and when we (politely) voiced our displeasure the owner/head chef came out and started shouting at me, telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and this was fine Italian cuisine, not 'International' cuisine!

After that I said to the waitress that I wasn't prepared to pay for all of the meal, as I do not expect to be treated that way - she came back and said he'd call the police if we didn't!

Not having been to the West side of Garda, I can't speak from experience.

However, click the following as it may help (has links to other Gardone eateries)

Thanks kiteless - I gave that link a good searching, hoping for someone to have written 'up all the steps!' or something in the review but no joy as yet...
