Hi all,

I'm planning on driving around Eastern Europe for roughly a month. Will be camping most nights, 2 people, Citroen ZX estate. I think I've got a good idea of most of the camping stuff required thanks to an experienced friend, but I'm not so sure on the car side (and neither is he, being a poncy cyclist).

I have plenty of things in mind, just need some help as there's surely stuff I've forgotten.

Obvious things:
fuel
oil
water/coolant
filters(?)
fuses
good spare tyre
jack
cable ties
gaffer tape
WD40
documents - insurance, logbook, MOT, vignettes if required, recovery, etc. (no visas/carnets as mostly EU)
basic tools - sockets, spanners and screwdrivers mainly
hi vis vests (one each)
spare bulbs
first aid kit
warning triangle
headlamp blocker things
GB sticker (on plate)
tow rope?
air compressor/jump start combination thingy

Serviced and checked over beforehand, you get the idea!

Anything to add? (feel like I'm missing plenty, although the size of the list suggests I'd be better off with a LWB Transit than a Citroen estate...)

Very good security for the car/wheels/everything if you're travelling in Eastern Europe.

Proper Insurance is THE most important thing! Do not rely on your normal car cover, talk to your broker, some policies only have third party for Europe.Take out AA Europe relay or what ever its called,B/down,hire car, trailer car to UK all that sort of thing. As well as GOOD travel insurance for everyone make sure you all have a European Health Insurance Card (its free from NHS on-line).All this may cost a few quid but being fully covered is piece of mind.If the unthinkable happened you could be in for £1000`sss.
