Forester Exhaust

So the hangers on the back box of my 2004 XT are rather corroded and if honest I fancy a fruitier back box. I have read the Forester has different hanger positions and tail pipe length to the Impreza bit I have also seen someone has managed to get a Impreza Janspeed back box to fit. Does anyone know if/which Impreza boxes will fit a SG XT as Forester specific ones are few and far between on ebay?
Having thought about this, and having messed about quite a bit under mine, if one fits they all will. The only exception will be if you get an angled exit (jap style) one as these can catch the bumper.
Find somebody with an old Impreza Back Box and offer it up. I have an STi one in the garage, but I doubt your local.

As Paul has said the Impreza and Forester Backboxes should be interchangable, The impreza one maybe a little shorter but should not be noticable.
Have a look for the Hayward&Scott backbox, but depending on how fruity you want it i would also suggest a centre resonator replacement pipe, it will give you a little more burble from the boxer engine
Another point to note is that the all Impreza backboxes from 2001 (Bugeye) to late 2007 Hawkey are the same design. The classic impreza exhausts has the hangers in a slightly different config.

I'm fairly sure the Impreza backbox is a bit shorter than the Forester one and the mounting points are higher. You might end up melting your rear bumper.

I can vouch for the H+S back box. I put one my XT a few weeks ago and it sounds great. You gain the nice boxer burble without it being loud. OK, its louder than the standard box.
When it got delivered I was horrified to see how bloody big it was at the tail-end, you can just about fit your head up it! I expected that, going by the size, it would be unliveable with. But its not. Sounds nice and looks nice when its on.
