This is the other halfs Dads 100E van

Took 9 weeks from Shell to the picture below.

Currently has a 2litre pinto with 3 speed gear box (i think). Cosworth block + turbo in the garage as his winter project.

Really shifts, is RWD aswell will be awesome with new block if not a bit mental.

Hmm i think it does have drum brakes he built all the brake system himself.

Not sure about windscreen wipers although the water sprayers were a pain in the ass to fit smile

I'm no expert but I seem to remember 100E vans were called Thames vans but all 100E cars were either Anglias, Prefects and possibly Populars.

I assume it's quite light, hence rapid?
Looks mint, what's the interior like?

This. It would be a Thames 300E smile
IIRC the early two door 100E's were Anglias, then with the introduction of the 105E Anglia in 1959(Harry Potter style one smile) they were rebadged as Populars. 4 door models were Prefects (107E)

My dad drove one of these through the Alps with a duff waterpump and latterly a blown headgasket; top ups and stopping to cool down every half hour!

Wow! Those are fantastic photos! Do you know roughly where abouts they are in the Alpes?
