That's damned good then, STC,,

I have to say I raise an eyebrow in the general direction of the test - the way it's calculated is a lot more vague than ones I've done previously.. cetainly not as thorough.

Oh and I was (and still am) floating round the room on painkillers too.. excuses excuses..

138! Damn good!

I'm in the low hundreds!!! My mum got 117! and I got lower than that!

Have to say though! The test wasn't particularly good! I did mine online and it took me most of the time to read the sodding questions! My mum did hers off the TV and there wasn't a time limit apparently!

I did the RAF Apptitude tests for Airmen/Aircrew a couple of years ago and they have a better set of questions which test you on everything!! Did pretty well too!

I joined Mensa about 15 years back with 158. Mind you I've drunk 489,206 pints since then reckon it's more like 156 now.

That was my feeling too.. I scored 129 on that but I've twice scored over 150 on more comprehensive Mensa accredited tests...

Hmm.. well IQ is not considered the monolithic indicator of overall intelligence anymore.. so it doesn't have the recognition it once had..

Anyway, people with high IQs are more likely to be selfish temperamental twats.. Ask my wife

Am not convinced by the mechanics of the test last night, as the max a person 26-35 could score was 136.

Does this mean you can only be declared a genius once beyond 35 years of age? I knew I was going wrong somewhere.

I got 115, but I was tired, drunk, and post, err... well, me "julie" was in attendance. nuff said!

It's a bit worrying though, because I was tested when I was 11, and got 124!!

As for the testing itself, the time limits are highly artificial. You are either clever, or you aint, and there's no time limit on that. Would it be a better test if you were just given the 70 questions, and 1 hour or 30 mins, or whatever, to do the lot? That way, you would walk the ones you see straight away, and leave more time to use your IQ to solve the puzzles you find more difficult. There's a big difference between problem-solving, and flash cards.

My girlfriends 12 yr old son tried two proper IQ test's. He scores 160 on the first, 120 the second.

Go figure. Numbers don't paint the whole picture.

for any IQ indicator to be accurate all the tests that we all have done must be very similar. and to be honest i have taken 3 in the last year all being completly diiferent.

IQ does not matter anyway i have a friends with a IQ of 214. and you would not believe how thick he is at day to day tasks...
