Can anyone remember the name of this film?

Sometime around the mid 90s (I think) I saw a film, the plot of which is roughly as follows...

• US guy is with US girl in the US.
• US guy goes to France on business and falls for French girl.
• US guy phones US girl and tells her he's met his soul mate and tells her they are over.
• US girl heads to France to try to win back US guy.
• US girl meets French guy and falls in love with him.

I think French guy (possibly played by Gérard Depardieu) makes wine or fragrances, as I recall a scene where he's demonstrating blending herbs and things to US girl in the place where he grows them. I've looked at Gérard Depardieu's filmography on Wikipedia but so far drawn a blank.

Any ideas?
