580bhp, and 450lb torque it'll be untouchable by anything less than an F1, was told 530bhp/tonne, and looks like 300lbs of torque is aviable from 3000 rpm onwards.

580 is the official word for road cars... havent got a clue what you are talking about restrictor wise??
There is no official word yet! There's only one car made (i.e. ours, or prime-als I should say) and its producing 'well over' 600bhp and more than 500lbft on the dyno so let's just say your figures are a little 'conservative'..

Around about 530bhp/tonne is close enough to the truth though.

One of the nice things about the Typhon is that it's not an off-the-peg kind of car. Each step of the build process has been a custom decision from the type of seats, choice of gear selector, gear ratios, differential, tyre choice, brake sizes and even down to what name will be displayed on it (i.e. Typhon, Tuscan R, etc..), likewise the amount of power and torque that will be produced.
Prime_al has had some very specific requirements that have been achieved with his car that perhaps TVR will not replicate on other cars (unless asked to do so). For that reason it may not be possible to perform a definitive test on a Typhon because I suspect each car will vary somewhat. For example the final drive on Prime_Als car has been changed to provide longer gearing, otherwise it would not have been physically possible for the Typhon to crack the 200mph barrier. Whether this kind of change will be applied to other Typhons I'm not so sure. Also determining the final engine performance has been very much an interactive process between TVR and the customer so for that reason I don't quite see how a generic set of figures can have much meaning in the real world.
That's one of the benefits of buying a Typhon compared to a Ferrari or Porsche, TVR are providing a more tailored product.

Trouble with this is its still a speed 6 or am i wrong ?
yes, shame it's not a V8 but...the Speed 6 is one fantastic engine....every time I get thoughts of going back to a V8 TVR, I take my Tuscan for a drive and the noise and performance quickly puts those thoughts to bed....
