One thing that gets my goat more than anything else is locations.
Say where it is
I get that they don't want you to cut them out and approach the employer direct. But terms like "London" are a bit too vague!
And make it Accurate
And I recently applied for a job listed as "Surrey" but turned out to be in Chiswick, W4. And another which said "commutable from M4 Corridor" and that turned out to be Weybridge, Surrey.
And understand the area in terms of transport
I've lost count of agencies saying "oh it's only 8 miles from your location should take you 15-20mins in a car" when they seem to forget that driving from South to North London (or presumably any large city Manchester/Birmingham etc) isn't that simple!

Apply, follow up.
Agent says "yes I agree you have relevant experience / education / tickets but sorry you didn't get shortlisted as you are not from London"
Anyway the OP asked, so I dislike Reed, being able to see 48 other people have applied for a role isn't useful IMHO.
Monster is almost as bad as Autotrader, crap search filters, adverts all over the place, horrid design.
The best for me is totaljobs / career structure, which seem to be two faces of the same database, followed closely by Jobsite.
