looks very 'empty' at knockhill, is there only 4 GT cars there this weekemd? why is that? is it because they all had trouble at silverstone and couldnt get them repaired on time, or have they not allowed them cause its a tight circuit (for some strange reason)?
the TVR sp12 looks good 2!

5 GTs (2 saleens, Lister , TVR and Porsche)

Why so few? - Stealth are doing Belcar, TFM Marcos rebuilding engines and the rest can't be arsed to drive for several hour to the middle of nowhere!

Lazy bastards. They really know how to disappoint people don't they. Fair enough its a long way but if they are in the championship for points then getting off their arses and making an effort to get to a race where, if they finish, they are gaurenteed a top 6 place seems like a good reward. Chances are that not all cars will finish so even more points to be had. I'm sure all the guys in the tuscan races made an effort so why shouldn't the others? Nothing short of a disgrace.

Knockhill isn't even in the middle of nowhere!! AS Ted pointed out it was possible to see Edinburgh yesterday!
Probably same is true today from the weather outside where I am!!

Basically teams are boycotting the scottish race for whatever reason!! This means that next year, the championship organisers will be reluctant to go to Knockhill again, meaning that all scottish championship followers will have to travel for a 4 or hours to see a race!
I'm not there this weekend, other priorities, (and lack of money) but If I could afford it I would be there! I can't travel down to the likes of Croft, Oulton or Silverstone regularly! and I doubt that the other scottish fans would be able to either!!!
Maybe these teams should start thinking of the fans, rather than the money lining their pockets!!

they have to consider money, but im very annoid and dissapointed in brookspeed, i thought that MAYBE they were in a position to do quite well in the championship, but NO they cant be arsed, but one thing i'll say in their defence is that they have only been given about 5 days to finish silverstone, go back to base, fix the cars (if they need to) and get up to endinburgh, which is hectic, in such short time, but if other teams have done it why shouldnt they, i think theyre should be a rule that if you commit to the British GT championship, you must make an attempt to contest EVERY RACE,

I'm sure the sponsers will be impressed!
Sponsor "How did the race go this weekend then?"
Team "Sorry we couldn't be bothered going so the money you paid to advertise your product won't be getting you any return"

Also the organisers are very stupid putting two races that are a large distance apart within 5 days of each other

I went up to Knockhill both days (I live 10 minutes down the road) and I have to say it was a great weekend. The weather helped of course - the analogy about ferries and ponds was quite literal last year. Whilst the sparse GT field was disappointing those that did make it put on quite a show. Hugely overpowered cars trying to get round the hairpin and spinning out was quite a sight. And you get close so the sound and smells hit you hard. The support races - F3 (4 races as the entry is to big for the track), Mini's, Formula Ford - all did their bit for the deprived motorsport fans up here. Oh, and Vicki Butler-Henderson in the flesh. What more can I say?

Isit just me who's worried about the future of the GT class? Now we have 2 Saleens who are set to completly dominate the class, but also we have a limited entry. Does anyone have a feel for where the class will go next year? All this just as the Speed 12 has found a class home... will it all change again?

Probably no GT (~ £250k pa)
Probably bigger GTO grid ( ~ £150k pa)
Possibly "production-ee" type class below that (~£75k pa)

On the question of next year, I like the idea of fewer rounds but longer races. Autosport has a piece today on the proposed two-hour "taster" being suggested for Snetterton, which may become the basis for the 2003 series. There are also mutterings (perhaps not official, but certainly widespread) that former GT1 cars may be considered eligible in the future. Thoughts turn to the McLaren and Porsche GT1 cars in particular, and there must be a host of those sitting around doing nothing for want of a championship.
As I said in my piece on dailysportscar recently, the series appears to have been relegated to the sidelines this season by the attitude of those at the top of British Motorsport and, if we're not careful (and they, seemingly, get their way) we won't have a British GT Championship at all next year. Whatever the reasons for the dwindling numbers and the general exodus of teams and drivers to other championships, even overseas, a radical shake-up is needed, and soon.
As for Brookspeed not turning up at Knockhill, sorry Viperman, but where there's no money, there's no way.
