I've done the dirty deed today and ordered Subaru 320R Saloon is in san Remo Red with AST suspension and a lip spoiler fitted from new. Bar from that will be kept standard. It should be with me in mid to end of july.

I quite like the new saloon without a rear spoiler wink what do you think?

this will enyoy the same number plate as my last 4 scoobs although first scoob shows a different plate on the track wink

Nice one.I think the latest Focus RS would look so much better without a rear spoiler.Hopefully the fad for these things is waning.Piccy please?

Simple remap without touching any hardware should make it a bit more intersting.

does it not have the 2.5 block though, which is not known to get good past 330bhp (I think, or there abouts)...

I'm sure i read somewhere that they have now sorted out the cracking pistons issue by redesigning them, and sorted out the factory mapping for European sold cars.

The mapping on the hatch scoobys was running so lean to get through Euro emmisions directive that it made a big contribution to engine failure on top of weak pistons.

Hopefully they've sorted out all that nonsense and customers don't have to go through the heartache of engine failure on a brand new car.

To me that sound really odd. Does the euro emissions directive govern emissions under load?

From Euro 3 emissions directive onwards emissions weren't just measured under predefined low load closed loop and low/high idle conditions but under dynamic driving conditions too covering a wide range of operating limits which would include open loop and higher engine loadings.

If you look at the standard primary open loop fuelling tables for a 2006 STi and compare that to a 2008 car you can see just how much leaner under load the hatches run compared to Hawkeyes across most of the rev and load range.

I had a very reasonable Part ex deal, sorry but thats all I'm prepared to say biggrin I would get a far BETTER all cash deal.

I'm still pretty happy with PX deal and don't have to deal with tyre kickers wink LOL but still have My old MY06 Type 20 JDM 2.0ltr hawkeye for sale and if it goes privately they said I can still renegoiate the deal biggrinbiggrin

I'd like to see one with an S202 or Hawkeye Spec C rear wing. These latest OEM wings really do look like MAXPower specials. Awful!!

Yes, personally I don't like cars too powerful wink

Really I was making reference to the engine exploding if mapped. Of course, this is just jealousy talking really.

Dont worry, I am sure H&S will make an Afterburner with massive paint can ends wink There is a hatch round the corner from me with the STi Afterburner setup (inc centre pipe) and its as loud as my car... smile
