Hello all,

Have been looking to replace my Tuscan for a few months now, recent fatherhood means the Tiv's got to go, anyway after looking around at the usual suspects XKR,DB7 even thought about a 456 but was put off by possible problems i might encounter for a car at my sort of budjet it looks like a 3200 may be the car of choice, did a few searches on this forum and it all seems very positive.

So I drove one at the weekend, car looked great and felt really well built. Didn't really give it more than 2 thirds pedal as it was my first drive in one and i didn't want to upset anyone, so it felt smooth rather than rapid, i assume the turbos kick in further up the rev range?

Did feel like I was sat quite high but I suppose after shaking myself to bits in the tiv i will need to get used to a car that is actually comfortable.

Anyway I am seeing the car again at the weekend and the deal may be done, its a 2001 3200 had a recent cam belt service FMSH any questions I should ask or anything to look for?

P.S.The car sounded a bit too tame for me (im not a ..honest )but im going to need weaning off the Tiv and besides I dont want to dissapoint the neighbours, the salesman mentioned the car could be de-catted as well as adding a sports back box anyone tried this?

Many thanks for all advice

If you're after maximum grunt from the 3200 then you'll need the manual - the auto is very smooth, but being a 4 speed it looses out in the gearing to the 6 speed manual - you'll only notice this over 100pmh though. You will find with either car that the Turbos kick in around 4k in anger and the power from 5k - 6.5k is pretty awesome.

Exhaust - as Nick said in previous post read the other sections here - its a common question - personally I'm happy with my standard zorst for now (my neighbours complain enough as it is!) but the Tubi certainly makes a fantastic sound!

Go for it - great car you won't be dissapointed.

Hi,

Used to go threw a TVR every Year, mainly due to build issues and angst. The masser will be with me for sometime, cos it's such a well put togeather motor. You have to get used to all the electrics stuff working and the ride being comfy. Even Air conditioning that keeps you cool in the height of summer. It's a tuff life.

It's not a race car. It's a GT, and a very nice one. Had my mate up at the weekend. He is 6ft 4 and and his wife 6ft. The fit in the back and where very comfy. Apparently the noise is better in the back. Not likley to be sat there, eh

On you next test drive, PUT YOU FOOT DOWN. Screwed the nuts off the one i took for a demo! Dealer just sat there and smiled.
