I am buying a new bike via the C2w scheme, and have a voucher of upto £1000 to play with.

I am now commuting to work 4 out of 5 days on the bike, and will be 5 out of 5 from september.

I have already sorted my commuter bike after changing some bit on the bike I got 2 years ago.

I have been looking at a Ghost SE 2000, for £600 with the rest of the cash being spent on stuff needed for the winter ride to work (Waterproofs/lights etc). I am not looking to max out the voucher to £1000 i want to keep it under if i can.

The bike will be a reserve bike for the commute to work and will be used for off road tracks, nothing to extreme mild.

Any other decent option in this price range.

Why did i immediatley think about the "ghost" bikes at the scenes of cycle related accidents ?

(or worse that someone would be asking if they were any good cos they fancied one !!)

Well TheBoyMoon and I are both planning to buy the AMR model in their range, and we're not exactly people who throw caution to the wind with regard to bikes, so they must be ok.

Not all that sure on the hardtails but at that price they're all much of a muchness.

The reviews in the mags seem fairly positive however.

Thanks, i tend not to pay much attention to mags as some of them seem very bias to particular brands. But it depends how many freebies they have been thrown that month to how bias there view is!

Only thing I changed was the forks as rst
