OK so I should really have asked this on friday but I forgot.

Who's all going to Knockhill tommorrow (sunday) for the GT and TVR Tuscan racing.
I should hopefully be going if I can find some mates who are willing to go. (most don't seem to be too keen as its exam season just now)
I don't fancy going by myself.

I will be driving a crappy blue Skoda Felecia with a GB sticker on the back so if you see me give me a wave.
If I see anyone with a PH fleece/hat I'll come and say hi.

Also where is the best place to stand for views of the track. I'm hopefully going to get a place (to stand) at the first corner. plus what time do you have to get there to get a good place? I've never been to a big event at knockhill before.

Cheers

Andy,

Probably the best place to stand is the first corner, but you do need to get there early to claim a decent spot at the fence. You can see the cars coming down the straight, full chat, dabbing the brakes for the corner then sweeping in and down to the tight McIntyres corner - trying desperately to keep it all together for the run through to the chicane. You can get a real good idea of the awsome speed that they'll be carrying through there. If they get it wrong...

I remember seeing a Clio being barrel rolled all the way down the dip after the straight - the driver was OK, got a hell of a fright though. But spectacular!

The exit of the chicane is also a good place to watch, but you can't see as much of the track. It has the advantage of being able to see the cars appear over the top of the hill and lift their inside wheels right off the ground.

The next best place is the hairpin, where everyone tries to out-do each other under braking. Frequently it results on someone going into the kitty litter or some heavy duty door banging all the way up the straight!

By the way, the drive up there is almost as good as the racing!!

oh yeah, I know all about the drive up....

I won't be going too fast tommorrow as I expect a huge police speed trap presence cos of the racing. Heard too many stories of mates going up to watch the touring cars coming round bends only to find hairdryers pointed at them. Sneaky.
Cheers for the advice.
