My first post over here with the Tivs
Just taken a deposit on my Caterham and wondering what to try next?
Taken a liking for a Tamora, well from most angles though she does have a big a**e but open to other opinions !!
Are any models better for tall drivers, i'm 6'3", really want to stay with a soft top but still want the choice to pop the lid back on when it's raining.
I've read the stories about the Speed Six engine but was there a point where the engines problems were remedied at the factory, can probably afford up to an 04 plate

As far as headroom goes, no problem.
I'm 6'2 and on the rare occasion that the roof is on, there is gangs of space...probably due to the low seat position i guess.
Can't comment on the engines. Mine is a 2003 (12000 miles) and don't want to jinx it by saying anything remotely confident!!!

This question has been asked more times than SP6 engines have been rebuilt. Have a search thru other threads in the Speed Six and Tamora sections, plus heres a very recent starter for 10...

Just to say that although I have never owned a Tamora, they have a top reputation as a planted car.
I test drove one and it was great. I only chose a Tuscan Convertible because of the bigger boot space and a nagging second half.
Test drive one, you will enjoy it.
Post 2004 engines had most/all of the problems sorted and so seem to not need the early rebuild.
Cars that have had fairly recent rebuilds (last 7 years or so) have the improved materials and oils ways.

I have read lots of posts but hadn't found a definitive point where improved parts were fitted from the outset, certainly I am aware of the warming procedure and the need to ensure the current owner looks after the car.

I'm 6'-2" and only just fit in my Tamora with the roof on, if you like a more reclined driving position then no problem but for me I like to be more upright. I moved the pedal box forward to allow a more comfortable gear change position. My car was supplied with early Sagaris seats so might be why my head is mm's from the roof that's if there is a difference in seat heights. Also with my long legs it's not easy to get out.
