This and other outrageous piss boilers can be found here.

The drug dealer who doesn't pay maintenance for the 5 year old he spawned gets to stay because he is a 'caring father with a strong bond to his child'.

When will the hand wringers wake up?

I'm so happy we get to keep the killers and rapists "Because they may be a threat to the people back in their home country"

Surely if they're not an official resident of a EU country, then the rights don't have to apply? There must be a way to catch these people out.

How the hell do they afford the best lawyers who manage to win the case for them? Assuming the tax payer is paying for their lawyer (usually is, isn't it!), then why can't they be given the Tesco Value lawyer who's a bit incompetent and more interested in his secretary's breasts than winning the case for the client?

" An Iraqi killer who, it was ruled, should not be deported because he would be a risk to people in his homeland." Cracking.

I like how this 'right to a family life' applies only to thugs, murderers, drug-dealers and rapists and never to law-abiding families who expect the justice system to protect them from these scum. Any foreigner who commits a serious crime should be deported, or jailed then deported. No second chances. They are our guests, nothing more, and as such we should have the power to tell them to leave.

I don't understand how lawyers can feel compelled to do a job for these people. Must be depressing having to defend blatant criminals all the time.

Immigration and Human Rights lawyers must be making a killing these days. It's no wonder then these guys, amongst others, are campaigning hard against the government's legal aid changes.

If everyone I know, and everyone in this thread shares the same views, then who the fk makes the rules?

Article Eight of the European Convention of Human Rights is the rule in these cases. Who signed us up to this? Whoever was in power in 1950.

Good rule being used in a bad way.

Blame it on the lawyers.

Question is should they bin the law and re-write it with an exclusion for convicted criminals?

They should bin it and use a Jury and common sense to decide whether these people have a case or not. A jury to me, is the voice of the people. And I imagine most of these people would be on the boat back to wherever they're from if tried by a jury.

IMO the vast majority of the judicial system and associated laws should be scrapped and replaced by the single instruction "USE COMMON SENSE", but maybe that's another discussion.
