Just seen Drivel on C4. They had a review of the new BMW compact with it's new front/rear lights. And do you know what????? It looks exactly like a Rover 25 (or whatever those things are called) I used to like 3 series BM's (I owned a 325 Coupe for a while) but I do not like the new 3 series and this new compact just makes it worse. Utter, utter utter garbage. Rant, rage, beer....etc

It's the first car in what looks like a new and worrying trend from BMW: butt-ugly cars. I mean, the stuff they currently churn out doesn't qualify as beautiful as such... perhaps more on the handsome, strong-looking side. The spy shots of the next generation seven series have been disturbing, and there was some concept they showed recently which was also pretty fugly. Hey ho. Maybe Rover is better off without BMW's styling input.

BMW are mostly responsible for most of the bad image Rovers had over the last few years. I'm just glad BMW have since taken their styling department from Rover, that compact looks pants - it's worse than an Astra.

I didn't know it was all about looks nowadays, I guess engines aren't a big thing anymore? LOL. BMW puts out decent looking cars, get over it!

The 1st BMW you could be genuinely humiliated to be seen in... Current BMW's ok, shame about set up, rwd with understeer, (my E30 had some, so don't want to know what current crop are like), but combine slowly more boring Styling (looking to go from bland to Ugly) and I hope they have some other plans to make money... maybe they could sell paper bags?

Fortunately for BMW they are about to redeem themselves with the MINI. Ok, its not Sir Alex's original, but it is keenly priced and looks good. And the Alpina version should be a blast! What an about turn for the Munich boys though, the only decent looking car in the range will be a Rover!
