My cycling so far this year has mainly consisted of twice weekly 25 miles round the forest on my full-suss Turner Flux, followed by beer and curry. I did put in a trip to Affan which almost killed me (rode the W2 loop and almost expired at the top of the 45min initial climb) and a scoot round Peaselake.

In view of the above, myself and my road bike are flying out to Geneva next Friday to do a loop of Lake Geneva on Saturday morning with my brother who works out there. 175kms I believe.

To throw some further interest into the mix, I am in Le Mans this weekend for some serious beer-consumption.

So.... I'm going to die aren't I?

Are you doing Lake Geneva on a full-susser?

Good effort. By the way, it's only flat on one side of the lake, when you come back on the other side, it's quite up and down. Those mountains aren't just for show...

i'm stooopid, but not that stoooooooopid... the full-susser will be staying at home and the colnago shall be making its Swiss debut... should be a wee (ie. a lot) quicker and easy to roll, but and am still slightly concerned that i shall be walking like john wayne for the next 6 weeks.

Yep its going to be puke on handlebars time LOL. I trained really hard for the USE Exposure ride last year and then buggered off to Oz for 3 weeks of eating, drinking and a wedding. F me! I struggled like hell on that ride frown.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance but aren't lakes flat? Just stick to the shore and you'll be fine. wink

hell yeah (to the first bit!) - still makes a change from the usual "i want to put my tongue up your pooh-hole" bks that tends to saturate the porsche and ferrari forums on here.

as for the second bit... just read your other thread... that sucks... poor guy... guess with the passing of his wife 6 weeks prior, the stress load on him took him over the edge... still, would prefer to go out on the open on purbeck amongst fellow cyclists than wired up to a machine in a hospital.

onwards and upwards
