Hi
Thinking of getting this night windproof jacket from Evans, which at £40 seems good value.

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/altura/night-v...

Anyone have any experience of these? Are they breathable and OK to stop a shower? I don't want a full waterproof as I sweat as much rain comes down. Any suggestions on size, I'm 6ft, 44inch chest and have a bit of a gut. XL or L?!
Thanks

I've got the full waterproof night vision one - £75 jobbie.

I've never worn an item of clothing, bar my helmet, so much.

Totally recommended.

I've also got the full waterproof night vision jacket, really good bit of kit. It does have under arm zipped vents that run down the sides for ventilation.

I have a gore bikewear windproof soft shell, these things tend to be showerproof but thats about all, any prolonged rain and you'll probably get a bit soggy.

I've had that jacket since Xmas, was given the fully waterproof one first but swapped it and have no regrets.

Comfy, warm when needed to be and keeps light rain off, price seems good too.

I've long looked at that jacket, and I think the EVO one too (I think that's the full waterproof one everyone's talking about) and wondered the same myself.

Don't need it QUITE yet - but come september, perhaps so smile

Forgot to comment on sizing..... I'm a 6ft + 42 chest and went for the Large. Its a little roomy so can get base layers under no problem.

Is it actually breathable though?

I've been through so many jackets that claim to be breathable only to find I end up being wetter from sweat and condensation than if I'd not even bothered with a jacket.
