What exactly is the point of him?

He's never going to get near the achievements of his brother.

At best, he is a moderate to middle ranking driver.

He is inconsistent, and often seems to doze off during a race.

And by all accounts he is a moody and difficult personality as well.

Looks like his career has peaked - off to Toyota next year
(but then again maybe Toyota will raise their game to compete with Honda, as it is a pride thing )..

Still. RS does not impress me.

Any views?

Yes

He is crap, or at least not very good at the moment.

I think he should have a long hard think and then leave!

Just like Jacques Villeneuve. Why rubbish RF? There's no sign anyone else on the planet can beat MS either. Rubens who?

I'm not rubbishing him, but equally I think he needs to pull his socks up.

He is in one of the better cars on the grid. He's German, and so should be able to solicit to the support of BMW as engine provider to Williams , and get something good going at Williams.

But his attitude sucks. He has allowed Montoya to assert the Number 1 role at Williams and by all accounts is uncommunicative and does not get on well with the team and its management.

Its a wasted opportunity. Williams is one of the most technically accomplished team there, it has the support of BMW and very fast engines. They are capable of podiums. Ralf does not seem to be making use of the opportunity.

He's like a German Coulthard IMO.

Fair comment. All the F1 guys are clearly excellent drivers or they would never have got there but it seems only very few have what it takes (and the right equipment) to get onto the podium on a regular basis.

watching qualifying on saturday with my brother we actually discussed what we would do if we were Ralf, or rather what we would have done prior to his arrival in F1. I decided that if I were Ralf, I would have gone into Sportscars and almost certainly managed to blag a drive in something like an Audi or a Panoz on the Schumacher name alone. Then when people realise that I'm not a useless gibbon behind the wheel of a motor car, enjoyed a nice sportscar career and never feel threatened that Michael has won more world championships than I have F1 races. I would have thought Ralf could manage a Le MAns win or two and some other good results.....

Not a Coulthard fan myself but I'd take him over Ralph. Coulthard can at least be relied upon to tunr in a decent race performance and if it all goes t*ts up he'll be the perfect profeesional in subsequent interviews and sponsor commitments. Ralph had a good patch a couple of seasons ago where he really seemed to build some momentum as the season progressed but now he looks decidedly second rate.

An interview with him in F1 Racing magazine earlier this year showed him up as arrogant, childish and unprofessional. They tore into him and suggested that he will never amount to enything given his current attitude. Amazing that no-one (i.e. Michael, Willi Webber or his father) has sat him down and given him a good talking to.

He's a steaming pile of ladybird $h1t who has the personality of a radish. 'A German David Coulthard' is right on the money. Well, persona wise.

Is that ok?

I always got the impression that he didn't really enjoy racing / F1 very much - I think he'd rather be with his first passion -Horses, but got railroaded into racing (then again he is a multi millionaire so it's not that bad)

As a driver when he's on it he is very very good - but he's on it less and less, if I were Toyota I'd definately have a pay for performance clause in his contract.

The fact that he had to be coerced to appear at the Festival of Speed a couple of years ago says it all really. At least DC expresses his love for the Goodwood events - and now turns up on his own accord. Raplh admitted that he did not want to be there and had no interest in old racing cars or old racing drivers. In fact, he seems to be indicating at the moment that he has no interest in current racing cars or current racing either.

Try Trulli, Button and Alonso, they are all as fast as MS, MS even admitted there was no way he was going to win at Monaco

I bet Frank Williams is rueing the day he gave in to BMW pressure to have a GERMAN on the team, and DITCH Jenson Button! He ALWAYS was better than R.Schumacher!

Even Mrs Ralph appears to be getting in on the Bash Ralph theme whilst promoting her involvement in Mini racing this year:-

Autosport said:
Mrs Schumacher already seems to be talking a good race. “Let's see who's got more points by the end of the year – Ralf or I,” she challenged.

Well no, it isn't OK.

I don't understand how you can be so unpleasant about people you've never met.

Oh please, sure you've NEVER said something bad about someone you've never met; ie - MPs,footballers, actors, etc.

Anyhow, its a free country. I'll say what the f*** I like.

Kind regards
