What are they these days?... My nephew want's one, but I've lost the plot at the entry level. Are they all crop sensors? Do Nikon still have 'lack of motor' issues? (I could spend the next hour goooooogling, but you'll know far more than me)
Nikons start with the D3100 for around £400 with kit lens. The D3000 is discontinued so a few float around at bargain prices. They don't have motors so limited to AF-S range to use lens to max capability.
The cheapest Canon is the EOS 1000 for a similar price
