Get fit quick sheme
Discussion
Well, not quite. Would like some info though.
What's the thoughts on the following to get fit in a reasonably short time?
I'd like to get properly fit and sort myself out so that exercising becomes easier. At the minute it's a chore and it bores me so here's what i'm planning :
Personal trainer they do at the gym i'm a member of. Get booked in with them to do every week day for say 2 hours per day over 4 weeks.
Eat right, aff the booze and supplements if they're worth looking at.
Would it be possible to get myself properly fit and start to notice a good difference? I'm not a fat bastirt but do have a bit of puppy fat
around the middle i'd like to shift.
Not looking to get a massive freak, just fit and the right shape.
So is 4 weeks of 5 times a week for 2 hours intensive gonna do the job?
Your thoughts please.

Without blowing my own trumpet, well actually I am a little but here's what I did in less than 50 days.

Although I'd advise strongly against using personal trainers from your local gym unless you happen to go to a old school gym. I listened to personal trainers and went backwards in my training!
I'd also go as far as saying I did quite a few things wrong and could of achieved more in the same time.

Och naw, i play fitba once a week as it is.
I want to concentrate on actually getting fit and changing shape a bit. No massive, just the right shape if you get me.
Cheers for the link, interesting results and good to see the diet stuff too.
Think that's the one thing i need help with the most from a PT or the likes, getting the diet sorted.

Honestly, you'll find far better information on the net than you will from most PT's.I want to concentrate on actually getting fit and changing shape a bit. No massive, just the right shape if you get me.

I'd start by defining what you mean by "fit". Set your goals, make them ambitious but achievable, and most importantly measurable so you can track progress towards them.
For example for me, "fit" means running a 15:30 5k because I've got a history of competitive athletics. "Fit" for someone else could mean walking up a hill and being able to hold a conversation at the same time.
Once you've got your main goal, work out interim targets and the training/exercise you're going to do to get there. Many people say "I want to get fit/I want to change shape/etc" without having a clear idea of what they mean.

I get what you are saying. Pinning a goal like that down isn't easy though as i don't really have a set view or thing i want to be in shape for.
Turned 30 and think i need to get myself in shape properly at least once in my life before it's too hard to do.
Long distance running doesn't interest me, neither does looking like a gym freak (no offence on either counts).
I'm in not bad shape but could be better.
This is more of a what can be done in the 4 weeks i can allow myself solid training, as opposed to reaching a certain point.
After 4 weeks i'll then decide how much i'll keep doing, probably back to 3 nights a week and football once a week too, that should keep me topped up?
