Brighton council, which was elected last month as England's first Green council, has announced it's first new policy for the city:

Well done the lentil munchers, that was a worthwhile vote then! We already get enough regular rent-a-mob demos down here having a jolly day out, so yet more work for the overstretched Sussex Police.

I think we should have as many cars as possible there to protest something, it can just be a car meet under the guise of a protest.

Lets see how long that attitude lasts when the EDL decide to "protest" there.

Brighton council tax payers - they'll probably have to shut down a couple of one-legged, transgender lesbian, Zoroastrinaist, single parent community centres, but hey, it'll be worth it to allow some terminally unemployable smelly skivers to complain they don't get enough free money to buy pot with! smile

So the council cuts front-line services instead of the very many behind-the-scenes areas which could easily be cut and the 'useful idiots' start their protesting. It's all rather predictable and really pathetic.

fking Brighton and its Green bks.
Just walking around there's 'Vote Green' posters up in about 10% of windows.. Never have I had an easier time picking targets for my bricks.

Honestly, their policies are insane and I'm just pissed off I forgot to vote.

Caroline whatever can suck my exhaust pipe.

Edit:
If the protests do become more frequent then we'll soon see the greenies out. There were some protesters the other day that stopped traffic for 30 minutes.. Do that often enough and they'll soon stir up the apathetic voters like me. I'll be voting next time for sure.

Edit2:
In regards to the protesters camping on Old Steine, ugly fking lot. Saw them sitting around in their deck chairs stinking up the place and having a good old whiff of their own farts..
Was windy as hell though and their tents were blowing all over the place. Gutted.

Last summer there was a significant EDL protest in Brighton. I'm sure the EDL will be delighted that Brighton are willing to welcome them with open arms.

I should get hold of a professional looking camcorder and a boom mic.
Then just go interviewing them for a 'university project on the impact of protesting against a tyrannical government'. I'm pretty sure I could make them say the stupidest things imaginable.

Just asking them question such as 'What do you suggest they do about it' should yield hilarious results.

'What are you here protesting?' would be another one.. I bet I'd get 50 different answers at a given protest.

Don't forget getting them to sign the petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide.

[quote]The debate comes after the latest series of protests in the city this weekend, which saw five high-street banks occupied.

The campaign saw about 50 activists demonstrating in Lloyds, Natwest, RBS, Santander and Barclays but no arrests. The council has already refused to evict a group of Spanish protesters who have been camping at Old Steine.

I can see those banks hanging around if thats the case.

That was my point really. It's like the council saying "don't vote for us again as we are so frikkin' stupid and we waste all your cash and will need to put up your tax next year".....

I guess it really does just evidence the distinct lack of brains and ability there.
