TVR CARPARTS

I orderd my upper steering uj from tvr carparts going to fit it today but it does not fit over the steering colum shaft, not sure if its the wrong part that they have sent, or if anyone else has had this problem nige.

Not sure where they get their joints from but I haad the same problem recently with on I got from Rally Design. My problem was the swing bracket hinge pin was too tight so therefore not giving enough clearance for the triangular shaft. My solution was to spend about 2 hours freeing off the old siezed one and finding it was actually OK so I re-greased that one and used it no problems.

yes thats the same problem ive got, the hinge pin is too tight against the triangular bracket not enough clearance to go on the steering shaft nige

What's the odds they are both from the same source? not sure what the answer is really other than to ring them tomorrow morning and see if they have any that are ok. Other than that what is the quality of the actual joint like? as the one I got was very poor with a fair bit of play in the UJ itself.

the joints are fine its just the fit thats miles out ill give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say nige.

Hi i have had the same thing with mine and phoned them last
week Neil was on holiday but they said to send it back but i think they
are all the same i am thinking about drilling the pin out and putting
a bolt in that side to
