But if I had billions then I would commision a De Havilland Hornet, the most awesome and beautifull piston fighter ever made.




Surely the DB4 Zagato of the aeroplane world, imagine what that would sound like with the cockpit open starting and warming up the engines.

My Parent's old Neighbour has a Skyraider! (and a few other tasty toys too!)

had it been 2 choices, the dc-3 would have been the other. i agree, they just look so 'right' whether airborned or parked.

Has to be Handley-Page's Victor with rejigged interior, carpets throughout of course and with internal seating of a bespoke sort

And matt black with a fine red stripe

I know you wouldn't be able to, but this is a fantasy plane, mine.

Victors, even with everything dangling and drooping, sitting on the ground look as if they could just fly away without human intervention.

I would travel the world in a Short S.23 Empire Flying Boat. There's something magnificent about the flying boats of the 1930s. The Sunderland was based on the S.23.
