Now having heard the song 'Paint it Black' last night by the Rolling Stones i'm sure there was a TV series that used the tune (not Tour of Duty).

It was a series that was on mid morning on a saturday maybe even in between Multi coloured swap shop or something similar. It was a foreign series as they dubbed english over it (badly) and I think it was set in medieval times. Remember people on horse back and bows and arrows flying about.

Does anybody have the remotest idea of what I'm going on about ?!

I can see the similarity.

Up until the 1980s, it was very rare for a TV show to make use of classic pop/chart songs as their title music. Of course, what wasn't unusual was for TV title tracks to become chart hits it in their own right. Examples would be -

Eye Level - Van De Valk
Galloping Home - Black Beauty
Avenues and Alleyways - The Protectors

Robinson Crusoe, Flashing Blade, Why Don't You, Heidi and the like. Ah nostalgia.....
