Yet another 'What Bike'
Discussion
I'm new to Road Bikes and I've got a budget of £350.
I've seen a few models but don't really know what I'm looking at in terms of quality and value for money...
This seems a pretty good one - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_786811_langId_-1_categoryId_165710
Any help you can give will be really appreciated!
Cheers

if it has to be new then a carrera from halfords is a good bet, solid bikes, good starter specs and the quality has improved a lot since they also started stocking boardmans. otherwise places like gumtree and other classifieds are full of specialzed allezs and lower end treks and giants for that price. you will end up with a better bike and one that will last a good few years, s/h is always a better bet but i appreciate some people want a new bike.
eBay had a lot of Boardman bikes (the ones they sell in Halfords) going for around £350 - £400. I think you'd be a lot better off going for one of them than a new Carrera. I looked at exactly the same bikes about a month ago and so considered the same options (though in the end spent a shed load more money and bought a Bottechia but hey - isn't that what blokes do!?!?
