Im stunned - the scabby old girl got through with just one advisory (which im doing)

Looks like she will be going to the S club ball after all.

I was going to remove the dreaded yellow connector - but read in Steve Heaths bible that the melting connector block was only on a handful of S 1.5s. Mines an S2 but I can see a big yellow connector in the steering column cowl down the gearstick facing side. Is this the one everyone suggests is removed or is it just the S1.5s?

A picture of this offending article from someone would be good just to be sure...

Hopefully someone has such a photo.

Congratulations !

I've got a 92 V8S and discovered a yellow connector. Haven't had any issues with it but will remove anyway as it looks like a bit of a bodge.

Agree with above about the connector - certainly a case of "when" and not "if" it'll need doing and surely better to do it at a time to suit you rather than in mid cross country drive. Guess how I know

Mine passed yesterday! Happy days!
I took my chances with Kwik Fit, despite my worries of them being rip off merchants, they had an offer of an MOT for £25.
Although they did have it for over 2 hours before phoning me to ask how to open the bonnet.
I told them where the release lever was but they still couldn't manage to open it.

Well done S3cliff.... Its a good feeling knowing there will be more open top blasting for another 12months. Also partly reassuring its had a check up, albeit I'd never rely on the MOT to confirm its totally roadworthy.
