Locks like that aren't even worth the 2.49..Mr Will said:

Are the tool kits any good as an initial set up set for someone who doesn't do loads of bike mechanicing?
I bought a tool kit last year,i use it nearly everyday.Everythings good apart from the chain splitter that broke the first time i used it!
I may even buy another one

I might give the chain cleaners a try.
At £4 it's no problems if it's rubbish!
They're worse than rubbish, all they do is push the grime deeper into the chain and then fall to pieces all over the kitchen floor. At £4 it's no problems if it's rubbish!
Do yourself a favour and buy a bottle of white spirit and some finishline, and then consume all of the jam from a jar and wash it out. White spirit and chain in jar, give it a shake every now and then over the course of an evening and then wipe, refit and lube. This might cost more than £4 but you do end up with a belly full of jam and a clean chain.

I run mine through 2 or 3 times until the cleaning fluid stays almost clean then lube it back up. It has a magnet in the base to catch metal particles coming off the chain as it moves through. The amount it captures is quite scary!

Sounds interesting. The one thing the Park tool (and this Lidl one) have going for them, of course, is that you don't need to take the chain off the bike to clean it.
I find degreasers like these more messy than taking the chain off by the time your finished. Some rubber gloves and a power link and the aforementioned degreaser and Roberts your fathers brother.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
