Body mount/lower seatbelt mount.....

The body mount in my rear NS wing, which also doubles up as the lower seatbelt mount (?) has started to blow/expand with rust. I suspect the MOT man won't like this. It doesn't look too bad, so I was going to remove the bolt, and clean out the rust. Do these mount direct to the body, or were there shims of any sort?

I'm sure this must be quite common - is there a straight-forward fix??

The steel part is welded to the chassis, if there is enough metal left under the body it may be possible to weld another bit on, mine were shot to bits when I lifted the body, worst part on my whole chassis.
There is rubber between the bracket and chassis - though when I stripped mine it was hard like coal and just disintegrated. Layers of rubber are built up to make the appropriate thickness.

Considering thiese are seat belt mounts to me its wise to sort it even if your MOT tester would pass it. What part of the country are you in?

I need to inspect it fully tomorrow - didn't look too bad, but you don't know until you hit it with a hammer! I'm in Kent.
