As not as massive football fan, not that i probably need to be one to understand this. But why the hell are people attacking this guy - whats he done wrong ?
Wrong question, what is wrong with these mentally defective f
kwits that they resort to this over a football match? The Rangers/ Celtic situation reminds me a lot of the sectarian problems we saw in Ireland.
Lennon doesnt do himself any favours with his gestures at the end of games or his comments.
I dont condone the treat he gets, and I hope anyone involved feels the full force of the law.
What I dont understand is, what's different between Lennon and the old boss Martin O'Neill? I'm sure O'Neill didnt suffer the same treatment?

Although what is going on in this context has precious little to do with religion and everything to do with football tribalism.
Lennon is his own worst enemy. He is from Northern Ireland with a Catholic/Nationalist background (that on its own would inflame many Rangers fans). But he makes matters worse by his own actions.
Having said that, nothing that Lennon says or does justifies anyone attacking him.
Some of you may not know that, in his playing days, when he was selected to play for Northern Ireland, some extremist Unionist Northern Ireland football fans issued him and his family with death threats back then - which forced him to deselect himself from playing for his own country. So there is a lot of background to his atitude today.

its pathetic, ironicly they will stand side by side when its a scotland match...
Just wait till we get into the Premiership. Then, out of nowhere, we'll descend on YOUR town/city for a day and wreck it. Then we'll disappear as quickly as we arrived. groak said:

Have you been to some of the towns with premier league clubs? It will be like Changing Rooms and Ground Force turned up at the same time for quite a few of them.

Who, what eh?Lennon is a wind up merchant but there is some seriously deranged folks around just now.
How anyone can decide football is worth mail bombs, death threats etc is beyond me.

Mmm, I thought a lot of the extreme types didn't follow the national team with the vast majority of the actual Tartan Army made up outwith the Old Firm support.I hope nothing sectarian or negative Old Firm related crops up in Dublin in a couple of weeks.

I hope so too. I'm sure someone will try to spoil proceedings.
